Introducing... Gaygirl

A lot is made of the south-London scene at the moment, and whilst I agree that the likes of HMLTD, Shame, Goat Girl and co are very much worthy of such plaudits there are a few bands that are slipping under the radar who are just as worthy of your attention. One of these is Gaygirl, a post-punk meets shoegaze meets grunge quartet hailing from Brixton.

A blistering, visceral wall of noise yet wonderfully spellbinding, Gaygirl are a force - especially live. Whilst many South London acts (and beyond) are influenced heavily by the likes of The Fall and Fat White Family, Gaygirl take a more melancholic tone with their sound with reverb drenched guitars  reminiscent of Warpaint and MBV.

Anyway Gaygirl are great so be sure to catch them next time they’re in your town and be sure to check Dance Myself To Death below from the band's self-released debut EP that was released back in May.
